This painting took me for a ride. I loved it, then I hated it, then I loved it again.

It was my first time working at this scale and in so much detail, It took me three months in total to finish all of the layering. I battled with the 'ugly phase' and I regretted it so much, but I didn't want to give up.

I spent many evenings staring at it thinking how much I just wanted to paint over it. But I didn't, and I'm so happy I pushed through. I love it. The light cascading through the trees, the vibrant orange of the autumn forest, the peace and quiet. I can imagine the sound of birds and rustling leaves whilst settling down with a book.
