ABOUT THE ARTIST
Carys is a small artist local to Bristol going by the name ‘The Artful Craven’. She likes to experiment with various different mediums and styles and enjoys creating expressive, colourful art that reflects mood, feelings and nature. Originally trained as a 3D artist, Carys began painting in 2023 as a pass time, and soon discovered a passion for working with traditional art.
From the artist: Art is a form of self expression. I paint when I’m happy, when I’m sad and when I don’t understand how I feel. Some of my most meaningful and reflective pieces have been created using that moment of alexithymia, and art helps me process and understand what is going on in my mind. But it’s not all mood and intensity, I love exploring different colours and creating bright environments that stem from my imagination, but are inspired by music, nature and real world experiences. I’m also a huge fan of nerdy content, and so you’ll find some Studio Ghibli, video game fan art and media based creations in my collections. It’s a dream of mine to end up selling at comicon one day!
Soon, I'll be painting a Mural on the side of the Circular Art Space Gallery in Bristol, Fishponds.
